Vaughn P. Beck grew up on a farm near Artas, South Dakota. Vaughn attended grade and high school in Herreid, South Dakota. After high school, he went to the University of South Dakota and attained a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in economics and political science. Thereafter, Vaughn entered the University of South Dakota School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor degree. After law school Vaughn worked at the Northern Plains Public Defender’s Office in Deadwood, South Dakota. In 1993 Vaughn moved to Ipswich, South Dakota, and began his law practice, as Beck Law Office. The law office is a general law practice with primary focus on real estate transactions, estate planning and probates. Vaughn and his wife Julie live in Ipswich and have two children. Emily is following in her father's footsteps and attending the University of South Dakota School of Law. Philip is attending South Dakota State University.
